Jeremy M. Vaida
Jeremy Vaida is a tax and business attorney whose diligence and creativity serve to aid his clients in developing unique solutions to otherwise intractable problems. Focusing primarily on business transactions, tax court litigation, and cannabis law, Jeremy combines his public and private sector experience to provide efficiency and quality in every matter.
Whether clients seek to expand operations or exit a successful enterprise, Jeremy provides clients with thorough and effective counsel. Jeremy has facilitated transactions across a wide variety of industries, including health, construction, and telecommunications.
As an integral part of Stein Sperling’s nationally recognized tax litigation team, Jeremy uses his public and private sector bona fides to defend taxpayers in highly complex tax matters before the U.S. Tax Court and the various state tax forums. Jeremy’s practice touches on some of the most vexing issues facing taxpayers today, including conservation easements, captive insurance, and multi-state nexus and apportionment. Unafraid to take the government to trial, Jeremy understands that taxpayers are often better served finding resolutions outside the courtroom.
Finally, Jeremy represents cannabusinesses in Maryland and elsewhere throughout the region by providing industry-specific tax and business solutions to the unique challenges faced by cannabis growers, producers, retailers, and investors. Having spoken extensively on the topic and been published in leading law journals, such as The Tax Lawyer, the quarterly journal of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association, Jeremy is a thought leader in this maturing sector.
