Deanna L. Peters
Focusing on the big picture and learning as much as possible about her clients and cases defines Deanna Peters’ approach to practicing law. By understanding her opponents’ strengths, weaknesses and case theories, she takes advantage of every fact with diligent preparation rather than overzealous advocacy.
Deanna focuses her practice on civil litigation, concentrating on complex business disputes and controversy. She represents clients from both plaintiff and defense perspectives on a wide range of issues across industry lines, including commercial contracts and agreements, disputes among business owners, dissolution of business entities, intellectual property and injunctive relief. In the employment realm, Deanna’s experience includes Maryland Wage Act claims and restrictive covenants.
Deanna’s extensive jury and bench trial experience spans all levels of state and federal courts, including adversary proceedings in federal bankruptcy courts and arbitration. Her trial experience consists of a wide variety of cases in the Maryland Circuit Court’s Business and Technology Track. She also has an extensive appellate practice.
Since 2009, Deanna has been recognized by Maryland Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and, in recent years, as a Super Lawyer in business litigation. She is active in the Commercial Litigation Section of the Bar Association of Montgomery County. Prior to joining the firm, Deanna worked for the U.S. Small Business Administration coordinating disaster relief efforts for hurricane victims.
Outside of the office, Deanna is an avid traveler and amateur photographer. She enjoys boating and scuba diving.
