Matt Pavlides’ approach to practicing law is defined by his commitment to analyzing the big picture in order to fully understand each component of a case so that his clients are placed in the best possible position, and fully informed at each step of the way. His ability to probe and to understand what his clients want, even if they are not themselves able to define it, allows him to be a fierce advocate for their goals. Matt prides himself on his accessibility and communication with his clients, sometimes knowing what they need before they do.

With broad-based experience in business disputes, complex commercial litigation and construction litigation. Matt has worked with clients on matters ranging from very large and complex commercial matters to much smaller personal ones, working to settle disputes through mediation, arbitration and litigation. He has extensive experience in trial and appellate matters.

Matt has been called on to play a role in significant litigation and arbitration matters in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, South Carolina, Florida and other jurisdictions across the country. Most recently Matt was called upon to represent a global privately held company’s chief executive officer in a shareholder litigation matter in the District of Columbia; a general contractor in defense of a multi-million dollar claim for construction deficiencies in Florida; and a local private company in a shareholder action and counterclaim in Montgomery County, Maryland.

As part of his desire to educate his clients and others, Matt has written such articles as “Poaching: The ins and outs of Not Doing It, Doing It and Protecting Your Team”; “The Non-Delegable Duty of Safety” and “OSHA’s Effort to Limit Dust Exposure and Its Willingness to Fork out Significant Penalties for Non-Compliance.”

Matt has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America in 2018 and 2019 for Commercial Litigation and Litigation – Construction and has been recognized annually as a Super Lawyer in both the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia since 2012.
