Responsible legal counsel is the defining principle behind Casey Florance’s work in the firm’s Family Law Practice group. Focused on protecting the best interests of her clients and their children, Casey’s approach is both empathetic and practical. She diligently guides her clients through emotionally stressful legal matters such as divorce, custody, domestic violence, property distribution, child support and alimony.

Prior to joining Stein Sperling, Casey served as a law clerk to a judge in the Montgomery County Circuit Court and was a legal intern at the Finex House Battered Women’s Shelter. She is active in the Bar Association of Montgomery County, currently serving in several positions including Co-Chair of the New Practitioners Section and as a member of the Executive, Strategic Planning and Leadership Development Committees. She also previously served as Programs Co-Chair for the county Bar’s Family Section. In 2012, Super Lawyers magazine named Casey a Rising Star among Maryland attorneys.

As a law student at Boston University, Casey was a Moot Court competitor and participated in the Civil Litigation Clinic. She also worked as a teaching assistant for the First Year Legal Writing Seminar.
